Art Paintings of "Artist and Model" by German Artist Iz Maglow

In these artworks the painter Iz Maglow has made his own profession to the painting's subject, an often chosen theme in art history. In colourful ensembles of figures, called "artist and model" a painter is portraying his favourite model.
In several series Iz Maglow illustrates the process of "a painter's masterpiece becoming alive". Like grown up kids leaving their parent's home, in this series the portrayed model steps out of the finished painting to leave the artist and, in doing so, forcing the painter to go on to a new start.

All figures in these series are more like painted imaginations than an exact human portrait. The figures and their attributes melt together, single forms step back and all grows together into one colourful structure! These artworks of Iz Maglow are painted, drawn or scratched with tempera and acrylic on canvas or paper. As it is typical for Iz Maglow's technique all is painted in an expressive manner.
