"PAUSENTREFF" is a pun with the German word "Pause" in it's meanings of tracing something through paper via carbon and in it's second aspect of having a break.
Like a rumour that starts during a break, then grows and changes, these drawings transport (copy) a part of their information to the next paper by adding new and leaving old parts.
